The requirements for this project were to design a tourist station in two 40 foot shipping containers on Mount Kaukau, Wellington’s highest peak. I chose to site one container half way up the mountain and one right on top and through the subtle manipulation of sight lines and the framing and magnifying of small aspects of the natural environment, I aimed to provide visitors with a new experience of the land, showing them views they may typically overlook.
